After a few weeks of testing and interacting here, I figured it’s time to start a more structured log of how I’ve been refining my copy trading setup. what’s working, what’s not, and how I’m filtering wallets with more intention.

Trading Strategy:
  • Focus on wallets with consistent trade size, clean entry/exit history, and moderate win rates
  • Hold time is now minimum 15–20 minutes (most wallets dumping faster than that get filtered out)
  • Watch for scaling patterns and platform specific behaviors (Raydium vs Pumpfun, etc.)
  • Limit active copies to under 10 wallets, rotating weekly based on new data
Goal:
  1. Build a watchlist of reliable wallets that perform under different market conditions
  2. Avoid over-trading or reacting emotionally to short-term swings
  3. Maintain detailed notes on each wallet’s behavior and update copy settings accordingly
  4. Share lessons along the way for others also navigating early copy trade setups
Right now I’m running mostly 0.1–0.3 SOL per trade, gradually increasing position size only when I see repeatable behavior over 5–10 trades.

Appreciate everything shared here so far. it’s helped speed up my learning curve. I’ll use this thread to post updates, breakdowns, and pivots as things evolve.

let’s build from here.

Really appreciate the level of structure in your setup, especially how you’re not just chasing ROI, but watching for consistent trade behavior and scaling patterns.

That bit about limiting copies to under 10 wallets is something I’ve also started trying. It’s tempting to follow everything that looks good, but rotating based on updated data seems way smarter.

I also like your point about Raydium vs Pumpfun behavior. Some wallets trade completely differently depending on the platform, and it’s easy to miss if you’re not actively tracking.

Definitely following this closely. Feels like a blueprint a lot of us can learn from.

Thanks a lot for this. That point you made about not blindly following everything is key. I’ve definitely made that mistake in the past. Chasing too many “hot” wallets just made things harder to track and diluted any real insights I was trying to gather.

And yeah, the platform specific behavior caught me off guard at first. Some wallets act completely different on Raydium vs Pumpfun, so I’ve been filtering based on that too now. Still learning, but slowly getting better at spotting those differences.

Appreciate you tagging along. let’s keep comparing notes as we both refine our setups.

Really solid write up. I like that you’re not going for the flashiest wallets but focusing on behavior that can actually be repeated. That’s something I’ve been trying to figure out too, especially the scaling patterns. A lot of wallets look good until you realize they just ape in and out with no logic.

Also agree on keeping the active copy list small. I used to copy 20+ at once, and it got chaotic fast. Now I’m trimming it weekly based on trade history and whether they stick to any kind of rhythm.

Looking forward to your future updates. Threads like this really help us newer users skip some mistakes.

Thanks, that means a lot.

Yeah, I used to make the same mistake early on, loading up 15+ wallets and assuming more volume meant better results. But honestly, it just led to confusion. Once I started narrowing it down to only the ones I understood why they were trading the way they were, the results got cleaner.

That part you mentioned about scaling logic is spot on. Some wallets just dump the whole bag on a green candle, and others scale slowly with purpose, it says a lot about their intent. Still refining how I read those patterns, but definitely getting better at spotting them.

Appreciate you following along. Let’s keep learning and tweaking together.

This breakdown feels really thoughtful. You’re clearly not just copying for the sake of it. the way you’re structuring your system around behavior patterns and trade flow shows a deeper level of intent.

Limiting the number of active wallets and rotating based on live data is something I’ve just started testing as well. It really does help reduce noise and emotional trades, especially during slower periods.

Also appreciate that you’re keeping notes on exits and platforms. That kind of detail is where the long term edge comes in. Will be following closely to see how your shortlist performs and evolves.

Thanks for the kind words. means a lot. I’ve definitely made enough rushed trades early on to realize structure is everything in this space. Watching others build systems helped me slow down and get more deliberate with mine.

Glad you’re experimenting with the wallet rotation too. It’s helped me spot patterns I would’ve missed otherwise. especially wallets that perform well for a few days, then completely change behavior.

Appreciate you following along. Will keep sharing what works (and what doesn’t) as this evolves.

Really like how methodical this breakdown is. You can tell it’s not just theory. you’re actually adjusting based on live results, which is what most people skip over.

Filtering by hold time and scaling patterns has saved me from copying some wallets that looked good on the surface but were just rotating constantly or front running pumps. Limiting active copies is a good call too. I used to follow 15+ wallets and couldn’t make sense of the chaos.

Will be following this closely. Always something to take away from how others build their system.

That’s exactly it. chaos is the right word when the wallet list gets too long. I used to do the same, thinking more wallets = better chances, but in reality it just made tracking impossible and led to random results.

I’m glad you mentioned scaling patterns too. That’s one of the more underrated indicators. If a wallet starts small and gradually sizes up, it usually tells me they’re building conviction. not just sniping and dumping for exit liquidity.

Appreciate the thoughtful reply. Let’s both keep fine tuning and sharing what’s working.

Thanks for this. really means a lot. I’ve honestly been learning a ton just from reading through breakdowns like yours and others on the forum. It’s helped me focus less on trying to “chase ROI” and more on actually understanding how wallets behave over time. And yeah, totally agree about filtering based on trade intent. Since I started paying attention to hold times and entry patterns, I’ve already dodged a few wallets that would’ve wrecked me. Still early days, but I’m building more confidence week by week. Appreciate you checking in. I’ll keep logging things here. both good and bad.

Really appreciate how honest and grounded this is. Most people skip right past the messy part and only show the wins. but logging both the mistakes and insights from early trades is exactly what helps others learn.

I also like how you’re prioritizing wallet behavior over just the raw stats. Even profitable wallets can be misleading if you don’t dig deeper into how they actually trade. That “trust but verify” mindset you mentioned is one of the best habits to build early.

Looking forward to seeing how your list evolves as you get more data. Keep it going. this kind of real world detail helps all of us improve.
